We aim at contributing to the peaceful living together of people and communities within multicultural societies. Research and knowledge exchange are our main concerns, with a yearly international Summer University that brings together theorists and practitioners from all over the world. We are in close cooperation with the Forum of Federations, a Canada-based NGO. Our facilities are open and at disposal of the public and foreign researchers wanting to learn more about federalism - both at the Swiss and international comparative levels. Our publications disseminate the findings of our guests or partners, and of our own research activities.
